Section 104 defines Blur-style pickups, Death Race weaponization, track hazards, combat eligibility, tournament framing, and KO/gore controls.
Power-Up Library#
Offensive pickups are Bolt, Shunt, Nitro Mine, EMP, and Big Shockwave. Defensive pickups are Shield, Phantom, and Repair. Utility pickups are Boost, Drift Boost, and Wormhole.
Every pickup stacks to 3, exposes a stack icon on the HUD, has spawn rate per track section, and has rank-tier balance data so rubber-banding can be tuned without giving late positions a guaranteed win.
Death Race Weapons#
Death Race primary weapons are machinegun, gatling, rocket, flame, and EMP-cannon. Secondary defensive weapons are oil-slick, chaff, and smoke.
Per-vehicle weapon mount points are authored and weapons are swappable in the
Garage. Ammo, cooldown, and recharge are documented in
V2/balance/vehicles/akashi_sx/death-race.csv and mirrored by the runtime
combat racing catalog.
KO Model And Hazards#
The Death Race damage model triggers a cinematic flaming-vehicle-crash on KO. The player respawns at the last checkpoint with HP reset.
Per-track hazard pickups include spike-strip, oil-slick patch, fuel-leak ignition, and road-cone hazard. Each hazard has per-track density so combat routes can be tuned independently from technical non-combat tracks.
Eligibility#
Combat Racing is its own ruleset toggle. In combat-on races, opponents see weapons and pickups. Combat-off modes such as Circuit, Sprint, and Time Trial disable weapons. Track data carries a combat-eligibility flag: wide roads with sparse traffic can opt in, while technical circuits can opt out.
Tournament And Gore Tier#
Death Race Tournament is a signature event mode tied to the Section 93 event framework. It uses a cinematic prison-island aesthetic, a ladder of brutal challenges, and winner-walks-free narrative framing.
Death Race gore tier supports off, mild, standard, and extreme, with per-region default overrides. Vehicle KO cinematics have optional gore variants gated by that tier.
Verification#
CombatRacing_V2_Contract.json, combat-racing.json,
V2/balance/vehicles/akashi_sx/death-race.csv, the RaceModes.Module
automation spec, and check-v2-combat-racing.py validate Section 104.
