Context#

The launch plan requires anti-cheat, entitlement checks, and platform compliance. It does not require a third-party DRM layer that can add runtime overhead and support risk.

Decision#

V4 does not ship with Denuvo or another third-party DRM product. Platform entitlements, server authorization, and Easy Anti-Cheat cover the launch security requirements.

Consequences#

  • Performance budgets do not reserve CPU or IO headroom for external DRM.
  • Build and release pipelines do not include DRM wrapping.
  • Any later DRM proposal requires a new ADR with measured performance impact.
