Context#
The V5 product promise spans five genre heritages: Urban Crime, Period Drama, Frontier, Monster Hunter, and Sci-Fi. The design needs these to feel distinct without becoming separate products.
Decision#
V5 ships five ruleset cells: Urban, Period, Frontier, Hunter, and Sci-Fi. Each cell receives cell-specific controls, pacing, camera treatment, AI behavior, mission structure, and feel-test coverage while sharing core runtime services.
Consequences#
- Cross-cell systems must preserve the feel of the active cell.
- Shared modules cannot flatten movement, combat, narrative, or UX into one generic mode.
- Testing must include at least one explicit feel scenario per cell.
