1. Identity#

  • Bundle name: kuanyin-restorative-standard
  • Domain: restorative justice (kuanyin_restorative template-domain code).
  • Use-case classes it applies to: community_restorative, platform_dispute (moderation appeals with restorative scope).
  • Operational mode: mediation_support.

2. Contents#

  • Clause templates included: the restorative bundle is composed through the composeRestorativeOutcome path in libs/contracts/concordia/src/kuanyin-integration/ and the candidate generators in libs/nous/agreement-search/src/domain-candidate-generators.ts. The bundle covers:
    • apology payload — wording, audience, recipient consent, review requirement
    • restorative_action payload — community service, education completion, mentorship pairing
    • restitution payload — monetary repair where appropriate
    • access_revocation payload — content takedown, community participation limits, time-bounded restrictions
    • monitoring payload — completion check-ins, recurrence monitoring window
  • Constraints enforced:
    • safety: no-contact boundaries when requested by harmed party (§179.7.3.2); no agreement may require contact with the harmed party against their stated preference
    • temporal: monitoring windows ≥ tenant minimum; cooling-off durations enforced via cooling-off policy in libs/contracts/concordia/src/cooling-off/
    • fairness: procedural-dignity minimum 0.70; burden-symmetry ≤ 0.20
  • Mandatory human-review flags:
    • All restorative cases route to a trained human_mediator queue; no autonomous acceptance is permitted for community_restorative (consistent with USE_CASE_CLASS_PROFILES).
    • Cases involving minors, intimidation, abuse, or coercion route to safety_reviewer and exit automated mediation per §179.7.3.4.
    • Apology wording requires harmed-party review before draft is finalized (§179.7.3.1).
  • Jurisdictional coverage: world baseline; per-jurisdiction overlays where restorative-justice statutes mandate forms (e.g., US state restorative-justice diversion programs).

3. Sources#

  • Drafting authority: Kuanyin domain owners with restorative- practitioner input; clause structures referenced against community-conferencing and victim-offender-mediation models.
  • Academic / professional references: see docs/research/bibliography.md §restorative-justice (Zehr; Braithwaite; Sherman & Strang).
  • Related institutional rules: UN Basic Principles on the Use of Restorative Justice Programmes in Criminal Matters (informational reference for community-restorative templates; legal-claim cases exit automated mediation entirely).

4. Evaluation#

  • Coverage against domain precedent corpus: every variant materializes a valid Zod-parsed term-family payload; the domain-candidate-generators.test.ts and kuanyin-integration tests assert structural validity.
  • Enforceability audit: restorative outcomes are non-binding by default; smart-contract execution is off for this bundle (the smart_contract_execution feature flag is disabled by default for community_restorative).
  • Fairness posture: procedural dignity is the load-bearing fairness metric; the bundle does not optimize utilitarian sum against dignity. Burden-symmetry minima protect against asymmetric obligation patterns (e.g., one party doing all reparation).

5. Use#

  • How Concordia loads this bundle: orchestrator selects this bundle when useCaseClass = community_restorative. Recorded in the reproducibility manifest's policyPins.
  • Consumers:
    • composeRestorativeOutcome
    • generateSeedCandidates
    • validator.ts (static validation)
    • safety-routing.ts in @iris/concordia-assistant (routes safety-flagged cases out)

6. Refresh#

  • Drift triggers: changes in restorative-justice statutes; emerging best-practice guidance from restorative-practitioner professional bodies; updates to the §179.7.3.4 safety-routing thresholds.
  • Last refresh: 2026-04-25.
