# 0014: Iris Replication

## Context

V5 open-world multiplayer needs replication that can scale across high-density
urban spaces, frontier posse play, capital-ship arenas, and co-op ships without
replicating the whole world to every client.

## Decision

V5 uses Iris NetDriver v2 as the replication default for open-world and
networked runtime modules. Cell-specific AOI and relevancy policies sit on top
of Iris.

## Consequences

- Netcode modules target Iris replication APIs.
- Performance tests must include replication budget coverage.
- Legacy replication paths require explicit justification.
